Yes. Off-site copies go to Azure Blob in UAE North (Dubai) or UAE Central (Abu Dhabi), to AWS me-central-1, or to a second UAE datacenter — never outside the country unless you ask. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest with keys you control, which satisfies PDPL and sector rules from CBUAE, DHA, DIFC and ADGM.
Yes. Microsoft guarantees the service, not your data. Deleted mailboxes, sites and files are recoverable only for 30 to 93 days, retention policies do not protect against a compromised admin account, and there is no point-in-time restore of a whole site. Independent backup gives multi-year retention and a restore of exactly what was there on a given day.
Veeam is our default for VMware, Hyper-V and Microsoft 365 estates because of instant recovery and SureBackup testing. Acronis suits smaller offices that want backup and anti-malware in one agent. Commvault fits large, mixed enterprises with strict retention and e-discovery needs. We hold partner status on all three and recommend on fit, not margin.
